Inspired by the trappist monks, the brothers and sisters at the ‘Morningside Monastery’ decided to brew what some consider to be the most bad-ass cider in the land. Coming from the neighbourhood that always looks on the bright cider life, we’ve found the in-cider information on juicing those local apples into something very a-peel-ing. From cheeky puns right through to our tasty drops,

We have two foundational brews – the ‘4.30pm’ – a light 2.5% for that knock off work feeling – and it’s big brother the ‘6pm’, punching in with a full-strength, hoppy drop.

Tim, our Master Brewer, is also a guru in cider experimentation, producing the ever popular Pineapple & Jalapeno, Coffee Supreme, Ginger & Carrot and more. With 12 local ciders on tap, get a tasting flight and give them all a go!

Beyond our taps, we have a fully stocked fridge of ciders brought in from all around the world. Plus we love pairing our ciders with mixers to create a delish range of cocktails. There’s something there with your name on it.
November 2018 saw the opening of New Zealand’s first dedicated cider bar in Auckland’s newest hospitality hotspot, the Morningside Precinct, 16 McDonald St, Morningside.
At the Morningcidery, we are proud to have NZ’s largest selection of cider on tap and a full range of bottled and canned cider from both here and around the globe.
We have tasting flights, a seasonal cocktail menu and a snacks menu to satisfy a range of palate desires. Drop into the lane and say hi.
Adopt a Tree
We’re a little business with big dreams. Not only do we plan to take the world by storm with our crafty little brews, we also aspire to positively contribute to the environmental and social wellbeing of our local Morningside and surrounding neighbourhoods.
We plan to plant 200 Morningcider apple trees around the neighbourhood of Morningside. In due time, our urban orchard and backyard fruit trees will be used to create our annual “neighbourhood brew”. We will invite the locals to participate directly in the harvesting, hand-pressing, brewing and drinking of our beloved Morningcider drop.
